英検1級英作文：大学教育
2021年第1回の英検1級受験時に、英作文・面接対策として自分が書き溜めた原稿を公開しています。
Grammarlyに頼りつつ書いたもので、完全に独学で勉強していたため、不自然な表現や文法的に間違った英文が含まれている可能性もありますので、ご注意ご了承ください。
実績としては、本番は英作文・面接どちらもこのブログで公開している原稿から、使える部分を流用したような格好で解答を行いました。
得点もそれぞれ英作文が745/850で9割近い点数が獲れ, 面接は615/850と合格ギリギリの水準ですが、2分スピーチセクションであまりの緊張から10秒近く言葉が出てこなかった所から原稿の内容を駆使した決死の、華麗なる逆転劇があってのものですので、内容としてはまあ悪くない水準にあると思います。

Agree or disagree: People should have a college education.

With rapid technological development and labor shortages caused by an aging society, the practical and immediate workforce of young people has been required in modern society. Although some people tend to underestimate the value of college education, I think that many people should have a college education for the following three reasons.
Firstly, there is a huge gap in salary levels between college graduates and high school graduates. For example, the difference in average lifelong wages between college graduates and high school graduates reaches 40 million yen in Japan. In this circumstance, having a college education is surely an efficient investment for own future.
Secondly, experiences in college broaden students’ options for jobs and life plans. Compared to high school education, students can touch wide-ranged and various knowledge and information in college education, which will encourage students to find what they want to pursue in their lives. The solid life plans shaped by the experiences will enrich their quality of life.
Finally, a college education also contributes to the economic growth of the country. Educated college graduates with state-of-the-art knowledge of each field will bring innovative ideas to stimulate companies’ competitiveness and business expansions. A college education will lead to the economic development of society in the long run.
In conclusion, for these three reasons, the advantage of salary after graduation, wide-ranged and various experiences and knowledge, and contribution to the economic development of society, there are many merits of college education and the benefits outweigh its disadvantages.
