英検1級英作文：クローン技術
2021年第1回の英検1級受験時に、英作文・面接対策として自分が書き溜めた原稿を公開しています。
Grammarlyに頼りつつ書いたもので、完全に独学で勉強していたため、不自然な表現や文法的に間違った英文が含まれている可能性もありますので、ご注意ご了承ください。
実績としては、本番は英作文・面接どちらもこのブログで公開している原稿から、使える部分を流用したような格好で解答を行いました。
得点もそれぞれ英作文が745/850で9割近い点数が獲れ, 面接は615/850と合格ギリギリの水準ですが、2分スピーチセクションであまりの緊張から10秒近く言葉が出てこなかった所から原稿の内容を駆使した決死の、華麗なる逆転劇があってのものですので、内容としてはまあ悪くない水準にあると思います。

Agree or disagree: The benefits of human cloning outweigh its disadvantages.

Since the success of the cloning experiment in 1996, cloning technology has become one of the most controversial issues, attracting attention from various fields all over the world. Although some people claim that adopting the technology to the human body is considerable blasphemy from a religious point of view, I think the benefits of human cloning outweigh its disadvantages.
Firstly, cloning organs contributes greatly to saving patients’ lives. Organ transplant with cloning organs made from patients’ stem cells dramatically reduces the risk of patients’ rejection. In addition, there will be no need to seek compatible donors. It allows doctors to take quicker responses than before and increases the possibility of saving patients’ lives.
Secondly, the development of cloning technology will bring huge economic growth to the world. The technology has gathered global-scale attention, which will encourage companies and capitalists to invest in developing cloning technology. The trend will lead to an increase in new job opportunities and invigorate the global economy.
Finally, cloning technology has the potential to alleviate labor shortages in developed countries. An aging population has been one of the most serious threats to human society. Although this idea will provoke ethical debates, the use of cloning humans to improve labor shortages is still one of the solutions to this problem.
In conclusion, for these three reasons, saving patients’ lives, invigorating the global economy, and the possibility to solve problems related to an aging society, I think the benefits of human cloning outweigh its disadvantages.
